Wild horse photographer and author Carol Walker will visit Craig on May 7 at Downtown Books, 543 Yampa Ave to discuss and sign copies of her 2008 book . Wild Hoof-beats: America's Vanishing Wild Horses. She will speak at 6 p.m. For 28 years, Walker has traveled all over the world photographing wildlife. Recently she began chronicling the wild horses in the west, including the Adobe town herd. In her book, she describes the herd, its relationships, and the threats to the wild horses clinging to their freedom on our public lands. The images in the book illuminate the relationship between horses and their people, as well as showcase the beauty of horses with her stunning images of horses at liberty. The book includes a chronology of events, from a round up near Rock Springs, Wyoming in 2005 to the disposition of many of those horses under BLM stewardship.
