Event Description:
Sombrero Great American Horse Drive has been a tradition for over 40 years. Each Spring one of the largest horse herds in the state is driven over 60 miles of open Colorado range. One of the largest horse drives in the state, if not the nation, passes through our community between 9 a.m. and noon on Sunday May 4th this year. Viewing the hundreds of horses in this drive is best observed from the Maybell Park - close to the action but in a safe place. There is no charge to watch one of the most magnificent events you may ever see. Fun for the whole family. Concessions by the Maybell Women’s Club for breakfast and lunch are available.
