The Colorado Northwestern Community College, Rangely Chamber of Commerce, Rio Blanco Water Conservation District, and Colorado Seaplane Initiative are together co-hosting the 2019 Kenney Reservoir Seaplane Splash-In and Colorado Northwestern Community College Aviation Technology Flight Program open house.
The event will highlight the CNCC's Aviation Technology Flight Program, and its recetn expansion to include seaplane training and certification, as well as the efforts of Colorado's aviation community to gain access to Colorado waterways for seaplanes. The day's events will include presentations by CNCC faculty and staff regarding the College's unique aviation program, a morning seminar on Aquatic Nuisance Species (ANS) prevention and decontamination, a catered lunch and "splash-in" at Kenney Reservoir by several seaplanes, and the official presentation that afternoon to CNCC of a Lake model seaplane, donated to the program by Carl Mattson of Denver.
