Event Description:
Runaway and Homeless Youth Awareness Month is a national, state, and local event covering the entire month. Moffat County is part of a state collaborative providing services to runaway and homeless youth and families. This event is designed to bring awareness of the issues faced by the 1,200 - 1,500 homeless youth in our state and the many youth in our own community. Community education of what homelessness for youth looks like is the key to preventing more homelessness. Awareness of the issue in our community is the first step to prevention.
