Name: National Public Lands Day
Date: September 25, 2010
Event Description:
This year is the 17th annual NPLD, and is the nation's largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands Americans enjoy. In 2009, 150,000 volunteers built trails and bridges, removed trash and invasive plants, planted trees and restored our water resources. The Bureau of Land Management, Little Snake Field OFfice has two events planned for this area.

The Craig event will begin with GPS/Geocaching tutorial at the BLM office beginning at 8:30 a.m. with work planned at Cedar Mountain for 10 a.m.  Volunteers will help spruse up the Cedar Mountain area and trail and picnic area maintenance  and painting of the facilities.  After the event there will be a BBQ and a raffle, including a girl's and boy's 26-inch mountain bike.

The Steamboat Springs event will begin at 9 a.m.  Volunteers will help in the final stages of trail construction of the Rotary Trail at the Emerald Mountain SRMA.  VOlunteers should meet at the Ridge Trail parking area.  After the event there will be a BBQ.

All participants for both events receive a free NPLD t-shirt, a Fee Free Day Pass to any participating Federal land agency, and a goodie bag.
