The BLM, Little Snake Field Office will be hosting a GPS/Geocaching Tutorial, campground expansion, and Take it Outside event as part of the 16th Annual National Public Lands Day. Volunteers should met at the Little Snake Field Office at 8:30 a.m. sharp. The event will start off with a brief introduction to map reading, operation of GPS units, and what Geocaching is all about. At the Duffy Mountain River Access site volunteers will help develop a group campground and group fire ring area.
After the work day, volunteers will be treated to a free BBQ, raffle;e, t-shirt, a "Fee-Free Day Pass" for participating public lands, free concert, Stay the Trail Trailer, and a Solar Panel Ice Cream contraption. The festivities will continue into the night. Spend a fun-filled night camping under the stars and by the river, as we gather around the campfire for an animal talk, weenie roast, ghost stories, marshmallows, and star talk. Be sure to bring your camping equipment and fishing poles.
