Event Description:
Celebrate fall at the Meeker Classic Sheepdog Championship Trials located in historic ranching country near the Flat Tops Wilderness. Every year hundreds of spectators gather to cheer on the top dog and handler teams from around the world as they replicate maneuvers required to handle stock back at the ranch. There’s fun for all, music, food, crafts, art and the toughest sheep in North America. Craft fair with unique handmade and agriculture related items. Food Fair featuring Fajitas, Barbecue, Navajo Tacos, Lamb Kabobs, Gyros, Soft-serve ice cream and more. No shaded seating, so bring sunscreen, a hat and binoculars. There will be a free shuttle from downtown. PLEASE LEAVE YOUR PETS AT HOME.

Noon: "A Biologist’s view of the Border Collie", Dr. Mark W. Neff, PhD

7-9 a.m. - Pancake breakfast at trial site by the Rio Blanco Masons
    Noon - "Speaking dog Language" demo WBCR
    Spinning, weaving, pottery, leatherwork and saddle making demonstrations
    Western Border Collie rescue exhibit
    FFA petting farm

Saturday
7 a.m. - Semi-Final Round, 30 dogs
8 a.m. - 12 noon - Farmer’s Market, 5th & Main St.
Noon - "Windows in Biology", What makes the Border Collie Unique", Dr. Mark W. Neff, PhD
4-9 p.m. - Free outdoor concert, "Flying Dog Bluegrass Band", courthouse lawn
5-7 p.m. - Lions Club barbecue, courthouse lawn
7 p.m. - Jackpot Trial, fairgrounds

Saturday & Sunday
Noon - Stock dog handling demonstration
Bagpiper

Sunday
8:15 - Opening ceremony
8:45 a.m. - Final round -12 dogs
Noon - Lamb barbecue by Rio Blanco Woolgrowers
4 p.m. (approx) - Awards ceremony after last run
