Farmers Market Meeting

Farmers Markets around the country are filling the need for fresh, homegrown fruits and vegetables and homemade baked goods (including noodles). Join other gardeners, bakers, growers, and organizers for a special meeting to outline the 2009 Farmers Market at the Golden Cavvy in downtown Craig. The Craig Farmers Market will be held on Thursdays from 3 to 6 p.m. The Downtown Business Association is looking for people interested in helping to make this the best market ever. Maybe this is the year for local folks to start their own Victory Gardens as a way to help remedy economic woes. According to Burpee Seed Company owner George Ball; whenever the economy is down, we see a spike in seed sales. For every dollar you invest in a garden, you get an average of $25 worth of store-bought produce, so it’s an excellent return. Plus, you can’t buy that kind of flavor at the grocery.
