The laying of cornerstones for public buildings has been a long standing traditional practice of freemasons. Cornerstones have been laid at many buildings including the United states Capital ,the Colorado State Capital and Denver International Airport. Many public office buildings such as hospitals, libraries, fire stations, banks and churches have had cornerstones lain by free masons.

Local buildings that have cornerstones are the Armory Building, Fire Station, Craig Memorial Hospital, old Masonic Lodge building and the Moffat County Court House. Its not to often that we have this opportunity to view a real traditional ceremony such as this.
