Event Description:
The Craig/Moffat Economic Development Partnership is preparing to participate in a process offered by the Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) and Gov. John Hickenlooper to create a regional and statewide Strategic Economic Development Plan based on "bottom-up" instead of "top-down" development.
CMEDP is updating its strategic plan and preparing to target those elements in our plan that could most benefit from support from OEDIT and the Governor. We will be utilizing this updated plan as the basis for community dialogue in the next few weeks to ensure that our plan is on target and representative of a solid local consensus.
In addition to attending the meeting above, or if you are unable to attend, you may also provide feedback by answering the following questions that will be the basis of our discussion. It would be helpful if you could email your thoughts on these questions to Chris Jones, CMEDP Board Member and Strategic Plan Committee Chair at jonescmedp@aol.com by 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14.

What do you think our top three measurable goals for economic development should be?
What should we try to achieve?
What are the top 5 economic strengths for our area?
What are the top 5 weaknesses for our area?
What are our the top 5 economic threats?
Please describe the economic opportunities provided by our local market area. (i.e. population, growth trends, demographics, etc.)
What do you think our top 4 economic industries are?
Please describe public/private partnerships that have successfully solved local economic or workforce problems.
List and describe the role of key community organizations in how we are or how we should be managing economic development.
How can the State partner to help our region achieve our economic goals?
Given the current fiscal challenges in the State Budget, (significant shortfalls and cuts that have and will continue to happen) what kind of support do you need from the State?
What resources do we need from the State of Colorado in order to implement our plan?
