April is National Poetry Month. To celebrate, the Craig Poets support the Poem in Your Pocket day on April 30, 2009.The ideas is simple: select a poem, either one you’ve written or from a favorite poet, carry copies with you (in your pocket) and pass it along to family, friends, and co-workers through the day. Join students from Craig Middle School as they read their poetry at the third annual 8th Grade Poetry Contest. Students will read at Alice Pleasant Park on Friday, April 24 from 5-5:30, followed by an open poetry reading at Downtown Books, 543 Yampa Ave. Local poets including David Morris, Joyce Phillips, Carol Jacobson and William Stocks will read their current works. Everyone is invited to bring their poetry to share.
