Several new carvers have already applied to compete this summer, so expect to see some new faces. You are invited to to stop by on any of the four days to watch the transformation of a stump into a beautiful woodcarving. Events on Saturday include an arts and crafts fair, several unique food booths, a silent auction, featuring one-of-a-kind carvings, a quick carve competition, a beer garden and of course a free concert. The Michael D. Band will take the stage and deliver a unique show using country and rock in an innovative way, which should get everyone warmed up for alt-rock icons: Cracker. Cracker is best known for its gold-selling 1993 album, Kerosene Hat, which includes the hit songs "Low," "Euro-Trash Girl," "Get Off This " and their number one hit "Teen Angst (What the World Needs Now)." Also there to entertain you will be Whitewater Ramble playing a free show Friday night. Self-described as "High-Octane Rocky Mountain Dance Grass," Whitewater Ramble uses a simple recipe to craft it's sound: start with bluegrass instrumentation, add drums and finish with a boundary-less approach to grassing-up everything from disco house grooves to roots and Americans. The last two years this event has been voted "Best Special Event" and "Best Tourist Attraction" by the residents of Moffat County. Remember that coolers are welcome, but please leave your ALCOHOL, PETS and BBQ GRILLS at home. To see all the carvings go to the Whittle the Wood Rendezvous web site.
