Popular keynote returns

The head of the Colorado Outdoor Recreation Industry Office will be the keynote speaker at the 12th annual State of the Community.

Luis Benitez, outdoor recreation industry director, will give us an inside look into business opportunities in the tourism and recreation industry, where it’s headed and what opportunities Moffat County has to break into this growing market.

Luis Benitez, the state’s very first director of outdoor recreation, has summited Mt. Everest six times, the first leading a blind mountaineer to the peak. He is a leadership development consultant, motivational speaker and now the state’s leading advocate for the outdoor recreation industry.

State of the Community will also highlight updates from Moffat County’s industry leaders and Chamber Cornerstone Partners: The Memorial Hospital, Trapper Mine, Tri-State Generation & Transmission and Colowyo Coal Company.

Participants will hear the State of the Chamber, the State of the City and State of the County in addition to awards presented for the Business of the Year, Businessperson of the Year, Special Recognition and the United Way Volunteer of the Year.
